| Taken on 12-Apr-2003 18:14UTC (14:14 EDT) after a stormy, cloudy morning that finally gave way to... SUNSHINE! North is up and West is to the right. AR0330 is a darkened bulls-eye, trailing tentacles as it approaches the western limb, and AR0334 can be seen steaming across from opposing limb. Prominences rage from beyond the western horizon as a major filament leaps over the approaching SE limb. Several close-up images of AR0330 were also taken during this session, and will be processed as time permits. Image Info: Canon EOS D60 digital SLR, Coronado Solarmax90/T-Max, and 30mm blocking filter attached to a Takahashi FS128 via T-mount TeleVue Powermates (2x for the above full-disk image and a stacked set 2x and 4x for the impending close-up)) . Processing was done in Images Plus and final polishing in Adobe PhotoShop. |
